PROJECT TITLE: 微型燃料電池 Micro Fuel Cell

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
香港科技大學化學工程系及納米材料技術研發所楊經倫教授所領導的研究小組成功地研制一種新型的微型燃料電池。該微型燃料電池是由基於傳統微制造方法基礎上所發展的新工藝來制備。它主要由新型納米材料制成的膜、催化劑和電極組成,其構造具有易於制造和應用的優點。在該微型燃料電池中,由納米孔沸石材料制成的質子傳導膜可有效地防止甲醇的
渗透。同時,通過使用碳納米管擔載型高效催化劑可以極大地提高電池的效能。這種新型微型燃料電池可以為各種移動式電子器材提供電源。目前,該組研究人員已就相關技術准備申請專利。該項目由香港創新科技署資助。我們竭誠歡迎各廠商垂詢合作。 Technology: Micro fuel cells incorporating novel nanomaterials for membrane, catalyst and electrode, were fabricated using mass production method based on traditional microfabrication processes. Nanoporous zeolite was used as proton transport membrane to solve the methanol crossover problem. Efficient catalysts supported on carbon nanotubes were used to achieve high performance. The micro fuel cell architecture was designed for manufacturability and ease of use. Advantages: Eliminated fuel crossover problem and improved catalyst efficiency. Applications: Power supplies for portable electronic devices.
