PROJECT TITLE: 聚丙烯/碳酸鈣納米合成材料 Polypropylene Calcium Carbonate Nanocomposites

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
香港科技大學化學工程系陳志明教授與機械工程系吳景深教授共同領導的研究小組開發出一種聚丙烯
/納米碳酸鈣复合材料。通過對碳酸鈣納米顆粒進行表面處理﹐利用常規塑料加工設備即可將其均勻分散至聚丙烯中形成納米合成材料。与純聚丙烯相比,納米碳酸鈣顆粒能有效提高聚合物材料的力學性能﹐如抗沖擊強度、楊氏模量, 抗划痕及耐磨損等。与傳統的聚丙烯复合材料相比,聚丙烯/納米碳酸鈣复合材料更易加工,材料表面光滑且造价低廉。因此可以廣泛用于各种工程耐用品的制造。我們竭誠歡迎各廠商垂詢合作。 Technology: The technology consists of surface coating of the particles to improve the interaction and dispersion of the particles in a polymer matrix to improve the mechanical properties of the polymer material. One example is the newly developed Polypropylene/Calcium Carbonate (PP/CaCO3) nanocomposites. Advantages: Compared to the neat PP and traditional PP composites, the PP/CaCO3 nanocomposite has light-weight, better surface finishing and significantly improved impact strength and Young’s modulus. Applications: It is a durable polymer material for various applications.
