Technology: A Novel DNA sensor chip based on optical detection
using CMOS imaging IC. It detects the opacity under room light
in determining whether there is a match between the testing DNA
agent and the unknown DNA samples attached with nano metal
particles. In order to confine the DNA samples on the specific
areas of testing agents, nano treatment has been applied to
create hydrophobic and hydrophilic patterns on the surface.
Advantages: Comparing with other DNA sensors using fluorescence
and microscopic detection, it is convenient (without UV or
micro-scanning systems), compact, and low cost. Applications:
Identify DNA fragments for bio-medical applications: virus
detection, disease analysis, gene mutation.
