TITLE: 快速響應液晶體顯示器

DESCRIPTION:
香港科技大學電機及電子工程系,顯示技術研究中心,及納米材料技術研發所郭海成教授領導的研究小組近日在快速響應液晶體顯示器研究方面取得突破性進展。這種快速液晶體顯示屏能廣泛應用於高清晰度電視機。傳統的液晶顯示器的響應時間在25毫秒左右,無法直接應用於高清晰度電視機。而三星公司今年推出的液晶體高清晰度電視機的響應時間為15毫秒。該組經過一年的研究,發明了更加快速液晶體顯示器,響應時間不超過2毫秒。這種顯示器是世界首家應用無初始電壓的p型液晶顯示技術,具有快速的開關時間,廣視角及沒有任何附加成本的優點。目前,該組研究人員已就相關技術申請了專利,同時進一步研究擴大規模生產這種液晶體顯示屏,以期早日達到商用標準。該項目由香港創新科技署資助。我們竭誠歡迎各廠商垂詢合作。
Technology: The response time of traditional LCDs is around
25ms, and they cannot be applied directly to HDTV. The response
time of Samsung’s most recent HDTV is 15ms. We have invented
the world’s first zero-bias p LCD with very fast response time
of less than 2ms. Advantages: Very fast response time (<
2ms), wide viewing angle, and no additional manufacturing cost.
