PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:
Ultra wideband (UWB) technologies stand to create a
new era of wireless consumer electronics and personal
networking applications. Deploying an unprecedented
combination of wide bandwidth and ultra low power OFDM/CDMA
signals (-41.3dbm within a 7.5 GHz of frequency
spectrum), UWB networks target to distribute wireless
multimedia contents at a rate of up to 480 Mbps (over
660 times of Bluetooth). Demanding UWB networking
requirements impose utmost design and technical
challenges for the wireless communications engineering
community worldwide. To address the technology
challenges, ASTRI is developing advanced UWB
technologies to counter signal degradation resulting
from severe indoor multi-path fading and signal
interference and to address the range limitation, as
well as QoS and systems throughput enhancement.
ASTRI's scalable UWB technology solution features
patent-pending multi-hop capability, proprietary
transmission power control and advanced intelligent
resource scheduling functionalities. The research is
oriented to make the next wave of high speed wireless
USB for PC peripherals and wireless 1394 for consumer
electronics a reality.
