PROJECT TITLE: Research and Development of Chinese Medicine for Anti-rheumatoid Arthritis

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
A Fu fang Chinese medicine “Qingfu Guanjieshu Capsule” (青附關節舒膠囊) (QFGJS) is developed from 5 well documented Chinese medicines that have been listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia for treating arthritic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis. Pre-clinical studies showed it has good efficacy against experimental arthritides in both adjuvant-induced arthritis and collagen II-induced arthritis. In addition, a three-stage quality assurance system has been established for consistent quality control of raw materials, semi-products (herbal drug extracts) and final product. It can be marketed in China, Hong Kong and international markets as herbal medicine or supplement.
